LAWRENCE ZUKOF

Larry Zukof is one of the most experienced and excellent recorder teachers, (both private and ensemble), and professional performers I have ever met. His enthusiasm and love for the music and his professional dedication and commitment to teaching and advancing excellence in music, is above and beyond anything a student can hope for. As a former student of Larry and a member of the piano faculty at Neighborhood Music School, where he was the director, I observed the progress and development of some of Larry's private students, including one high school student who over the years, advanced technically and musically to a very high level of recorder playing. Larry's extensive teaching and performing experience, a vast and deep knowledge of music history and recorder repertoire make him the teacher one would be privileged to have.

Larry Zukof is a wonderful teacher who has conducted workshops for my students in Ithaca and Binghamton over the last several years. Larry's expertise and enthusiasm, warmth and encouragement created a positive experience for everyone. The feedback from my students has been excellent.

Larry is particularly adept at teaching all levels from beginner to pre-professional. His wide-ranging interest in different periods and styles of recorder music enables him to offer an approach that is both broad and deep. He has a rare ability to connect equally well with adults and children, and I would recommend his teaching unreservedly. My only wish is that he lived closer, and could come more often!
